LONG DIVISION - EXPANDED METHOD AND PARTINIONING ACTIVITY BOOKLET

(0)
The expanded notation method for division is just a repetition of dividing, multiplying, and subtracting for each number in the dividend. Using expanded notation in long division shows place value and helps our students remember what the numbers represent. Partitioning is used to make solving maths problems involving large numbers easier by separating them into smaller units. For example, 782 can be partitioned into: 700 + 80 + 2. It helps kids see the true value of each digit. (4 pages included).
